Dear friends,

Will you show us some love this Valentine Day?

As a generous supporter of SJI, you’ll know that we have a vision to help build and grow the church. We want to see the kingdom of God on earth and in people’s lives.

I am writing now to tell you about our FRESH initiative that’ll play a key role in future years.

It’s all about leadership. One of the most important things for the Church now is spotting and raising up a new generation of young leaders who’ll be able to to carry the Gospel through into future decades.

Our vision is to train 1,000 young people for leadership by 2015 – young people who’ll lead with Christ’s values all over the country.

It’s a big vision and we can only see it through with the help of many generous givers.

SJI are passionate about encouraging young people to stand for their faith. We are training and mentoring 15 – 21 year olds through a programme called FRESH. This programme supports and equips people to become what we call “Missional Leaders”.
Over a year, each young person gains from support and guidance in mentoring, and three residential weekends which are packed with learning and practical application.

It’s not expensive, but we do need to ask for people’s financial support. Can you help us equip young people and adults across the UK in becoming Missional Leaders in their communities?

Their passion and enthusiasm is already having an effect across the country. This year, we’ve begun developing a FRESH programme in the North of England, which will run alongside our flagship programme in the South. We’re aiming to to mobilise and train 1,000 young people by 2015. Right across the country.

It’s important to keep FRESH easily accessible so that young people of all backgrounds can become Missional Leaders, so the larger part of the costs are funded by gifts.

This is going to nurture the faith and leaderships skills of young people. It’s going to make a great impact in this nation!
