Called and Commissioned? The Forum

Rob Frost’s final book project came out earlier this year. The call and the Commission is a collection of essays from a spectrum of perspectives that looks at the question, “How can we better equip the next generation of Church leaders.

Canon Greenwood reviewed the book or the Church Times and said, “The authors of this book are urgent in encouraging the Church to listen to the call of a younger generation of leaders, and to risk letting go of church models from a previous age. There is a strong plea for those in senior positions to encourage younger leaders, and to take with great seriousness their diagnosis and recommendations for a healthier and more evangelistic Church.”

The book has caused much debate and SJI is working alongside the Evangelical Alliance to host a day’s forum exploring the issues of training a new generation of church leaders. With a key note talk from David Wilkinson and lots of opportunity for dialogue between emerging leaders and denominational leaders, the day hopes to help explore some of the ways forward.
